Is your room too small for your table?
Here's one solution using shop leftovers.

A customer had an antique ivory cueball that had a few dings in it. He couldn't play pool with it & the missing chunk made for a less than stellar knick-knack. What was he to do? He decided to use it for the handle on a cane!
He asked if I could make a body for his cane, giving him a total height of 35". I eagerly accepted the job, forgetting that my machines couldn't handle that length. That meant a 2 piece cane (plus the handle). One thing led to another and I ended up making a playable pool cue from a less than stellar full splice blank. The addition of a short extension solved the length problem & gave me a an opportunity to add some bling. You can see the results below:
These are the components used in the cane.
This shows how the phenolic threads engage the ivory cue ball. It's hard to see the details but the diamond inlays in the points of the cue are exactly the same size as the diamonds on the engraved pattern.
Once the cue ball is securely mounted, the extension can be screwed onto the butt just like a shaft.
The butt itself can be used with any 3/8-10 shaft, though it is a bit on the light side.
